Need a little wisdom Today?

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Aristotle

Artists are constantly being challenged by what to do with the many parts that make up their art tool box.  I once had a college art professor say, “The secret to making  good art is knowing how to use your tools and when to use them.” Those words have stayed with me for 40 some years.  Art is made of many parts starting with the thought process deep in ones mind and soul  to the materials that will be needed to accomplish the whole.  Aristotle is correct the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. As an artist I hope that the sum of the whole will express a sense of beauty in the heart and eye of the beholder.

I thought perhaps you would like to see some of the parts I use in making the embossed welcome signs.

One last piece of news for this week. I have a new video ready for you, How To Paint Tulips. I think you may like this video even if you think you will never paint tulips.  Hopefully it will make your day a bit more joyful.
