A  60th Wedding Anniversary Commission. 

 

 

 

Uros and Ljudmila Roessmann were married in 1957. Their eldest daughter Anita Roessman, my landlady, commissioned this piece to celebrate their 60th year of marriage in June of this year. Uros and Ljudmila were born in Slovenia and were young adults at the end of WWII. Soon they immigrated to America and setteled in Cleveland OH where they raised their family. Now they reside here in Helena just 10 mins from our house. The piece above depicts some of the places they lived in Slovenia nestled under Our Lady of Brezje, Slovenia at the very top. In the middle section is a partial skyline of Cleveland OH, Uros and Ljudmila and on the right views of Helena MT along with their currant home. In the bottom portion of the painting are their 4 children in their early years and two of the homes they lived in growing up in Cleveland. Anita and I had a great time planning this out. She gave me many photos to work from and knew exactly the size she wanted, 16 x 22. The handmade wood frame was also apart of the commission and is made of birch. The red and white carnations were painted on the gold background on the top of the frame, they are the national flower of Slovenia. It was such a gift to be asked to create this piece for Uros and Ljudmila in honor of their 60years of marriage. Happy Anniversary Uros and Ljudmila.

Something New

 

Below are two of my small paintings. White Tulips and August Moon. They are both up for auction at Daily Paint Works which is an on line art gallery. I have wanted to try out the auction format for sometime on this site. Daily Paint Works is a wonderful site, very reputable and filled with beautiful paintings from artists around the country and a few beyond. They get lots of traffic and sales and are highly regarded among both artists and buyers. In the next 4 weeks I hope to list more paintings and see if some of them can find a new home.
