Contemporary Painting

Taking Flight is one of several paintings in a new series. I have begun to explore shapes, patterns, and lines in my compositions. Coupled with random marks filled with energy. A spiral circle is a line form I especially enjoy making. This playful circle form has appeared throughout my life and as a result it now reappears in several of my new abstract works. In fact you can view more examples of my mark making in the image Finding My Way. Exploring marks and lines that have somehow traveled with me from childhood into adulthood has been a journey of insight and delight. Again these shapes and lines have filled this blue-green painting to delight the viewer. My sense of humor has brought me joy throughout my life's journey, and I often find its expression in the color pallet I use.
