Each piece begins with an embossed aluminum design. I create flowers or fruit and surround them with lines and patterns that add movement and texture. I then apply dark ink to the metal and carefully burnish it. This process brings out beautiful shades of black and gray and highlights the details of each design.
Next, I mount the embossed metal on a colorful, hand-printed rice paper background. The bright colors and playful patterns create a wonderful contrast with the subtle tones of the metal.
Choose from a variety of designs, including tulips, coneflowers, pears, apples, and avocados. I create each piece by hand, so every one has its own character.
